We are back from the Berlin International Shoulder Course!

This April, we had the opportunity to participate as exhibitors at one of the most important orthopaedic congresses in the world - the Berlin International Shoulder Course (2023).

The preparations took several weeks and in the spirit of our unconventional approach, we brought two kegs of beer from the local Moravia brewery to Berlin in addition to our Drillbone booth, information materials and training simulators.

The congress was full of inspiring lectures from leaders in the field, which orthopaedic surgeons from our team had the opportunity to listen to. In some of them, the world's leading capacities emphasized the thriftiness of surgeries and the return to original values, which is also the main idea of Drillbone.

We can say that our booth had a great success - the question is whether it was thanks to the beer or thanks to the Drillbone Tunneler. Throughout the congress, dozens of orthopaedic surgeons from different parts of the world stopped by to meet us and their feedback significantly exceeded our expectations – they were excited to try operating with Tunneler on the simulator and, over a beer that serves as a perfect ice-breaker, they warmly discussed with us their experiences and the potential benefits of Drillbone for their local practice. Many of them showed a strong interest in the Drillbone Tunneler (update from October 2023: the first of them are already operating with it today!; update from December 2024: you can add surgeons from Costa Rica, Bahrain and several other countries as well.. here in Berlin they saw Drillbone and met us for the first time!).

The Berlin congress was a major turning point for us in Drillbone's journey into the world. Until then, we were mainly known in the Czech Republic (and Slovakia), but here we had the opportunity to present our work to hundreds of orthopaedic surgeons from all around the world. Based on their feedback, we feel that the idea of the Drillbone project really resonated with many of them and that we have slowly started to plant the first seeds in their heads.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to all those who came and spent pleasant and enriching days with us in Berlin. We appreciate it and it is not only a boost for us but also a commitment to continue our work.
