The Drillbone Story:
Rebels in the field of Orthopaedics
We established the Drillbone company in Brno in the Czech Republic in 2020. We develop orthopaedic instruments and tools of our own design and supply them in the Czech Republic and abroad.
Our tools are intended for transosseous and press-fit techniques that allow for the natural healing of tissues. We strive to avoid implants.
Thanks to that, our patients experience earlier relief from postoperative pain and can commence accelerated rehabilitation. Moreover, these techniques are significantly cheaper, and as such they resonate with the emerging value-based care trend.
The education of surgeons and patients is an important part of our work too. Our methods issue from the principles of evidence-based medicine.
Drillbone is an independent company that goes against the current mainstream and is proud of it.
Meet the Team
Filip Hudecek, M.D.
He has been doing orthopaedics since 1997 and it has become his lifetime passion. He enjoys operating and learning new things. This is why he spends as much time in the operating theatre as possible and is studying all the time. He loves meeting people who are passionate about what they do, enjoys changing the scene and creating new things. In Czech Republic, he is introducing new surgical methods, which he continues to spread among the leading orthopaedists he meets around the world. With the Drillbone project, he is fulfilling his dream of freedom and independence of the big players in the medical field. He is convinced that Drillbone offers a better solution for all parties – orthopaedists, medical facilities, insurance companies and above all, the patients. He dreams of being joined by other like-minded operators. For them and for their patients, he and his team want to develop tools and promote surgical techniques that are the core of the Drillbone project slogan: "strong solutions for better healing". He does this because he wants to move orthopaedics at least a little bit forward in the direction in which he trusts.
Ing. Tomas Valenta
Engineer, designer, people person and enthusiastic creator and developer. He invests energy in projects where he sees the potential to change something. He understands his skills as an opportunity to perhaps create a better world for all of us. He enjoys being with people, communicating with them and realizing bold goals together. His task in the Drillbone project is to realize the visions and joint ideas. Creating simple and indestructible tools for surgeons and helping to change orthopaedics is a joyful challenge for him. It was him who noticed the hidden message for operating surgeons who want to be the number one: Drill-B-One!
