Strengthening Orthopaedic Partnerships: Our Experience in Lithuania
We recently returned from two inspiring trips to Lithuania, where we had the privilege of spending time at Kaunas University Hospital and attending a conference in Kaunas organized by prof. Rimtautas Gudas.

During our first visit, we operated alongside Prof. Gudas and witnessed his great expertise in utilizing the Drillbone Tunneler, including an arthroscopic transosseous rotator cuff repair on a massive three-tendon Collin type C tear in a colleague's shoulder. Seeing how quickly prof. Gudas adopted the transosseous technique reinforced our belief in the impact of this innovative approach.
On our second visit, we had the opportunity to attend a conference led by prof. Gudas, which featured many inspiring lectures. We were also delighted to visit the iconic Zalgiris Kaunas basketball arena, adding a unique touch to the experience.
Our collaboration extended further with ESSKA-ESMA Vice President Tom Patt, whose sophisticated ACL injury prevention system has tremendous potential. We’re also thrilled by the interest generated in the Drillbone Tunneler, especially in the context of challenging rotator cuff repairs.
These visits have strengthened our partnerships with Lithuanian colleagues and we look forward to continuing these collaborations and exploring new opportunities to innovate in orthopaedics.
